Frequently asked questions.

Do I need to have a farming or agriculture background if I want to work at Halter?

For most of our roles such as engineering, marketing, and operations, you don’t need any industry experience in farming or agriculture however, we love people who want to learn about it and are passionate about such an important industry in New Zealand.

For our roles in Business Development or Customer Success, we tend to look for people who have a farming background but it depends on the role.

In saying the above, please go ahead and apply, we may have a role for you now or later on.

Are we open to international candidates? Do you sponsor work visas or provide relocation assistance?

Yes, we do! We help support anyone who wants to move to New Zealand. As an accredited employer, we can help with the visa process as we partner with an immigration specialist to help make your transition to New Zealand as smooth as possible.

How do I know if the job is still accepting applications?

As long as our job openings are on our careers website, we still accept applications. The best thing to do is to apply as soon as you can and you’ll hear back from us soon!

What if I don’t see a role that suits me right now?

We have an ‘Expression of Interest’ Talent Pool so you can send us your CV and tell us a little bit about yourself and the type of role you are looking for. We’ll get back to you as soon as possible and keep your profile on hold in case there are any suitable positions available later on.

Do we offer internships or entry-level positions?

Yes, we do! We typically run our internship opportunities from the 15th of November through to the end of February every year. Applications usually open between July and August every year.

All our entry-level positions open at different times but you can find both our internship and entry-level opportunities here.
